My First Lagos Fashion Week Experience | 5 Things I Learned
Hello guys! Welcome back to my blog! So I attended Heineken Lagos Fashion Week which held from 24th-27th of October. I must admit, it felt good being in a place with so many creatives and expression of fashion…runway x street style. Keep reading for a couple of things i learned attending my first fashion week.
Day 2
I was a little nervous because I didn’t know what to expect and I also didn’t know if i was over dressed or under dressed. Getting there, it was less crowded than i anticipated. I was stopped many times to get my picture taken, I felt like a celebrity *flips hair
What I Wore
Went with a mustard yellow set, accessorized with gold, yellow and red to make it more interesting and a beret because well, a beret just makes any outfit look chic.
And I guess I did something right because your girl made it to Bellanaija X Lagos Street Style’s best dressed list *whoop whoop
Day 3
Finally got to experience the runway shows on day 3, the designers did good…it was pretty interesting to watch.
What I Wore
I was going to go for a Chanel inspired look but had to change my outfit last minute. I mean, there was no way I was wearing heels after Day 1, it was a struggle you guys…there was a lot of standing and the walking on unbalanced floor, so denim and flats it was!
Day 4 of Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2018
There were so many people on day 4, probably because it was the last day and a Saturday. This was the day most of the celebrities came out to play. Didn’t take pictures because I was both physically and mentally exhausted…don’t judge me lol! I definitely will not be attending all three days next year. I stayed longer on this day, attended both the runways shows and after party so yeah it was a fun end to Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2018.
A Few of my Favorites Designers/Runways Shows in No Particular Order :
- Mai Atafo
- Clan
- Style Temple
- Ugo Monye
- Demure by Adenike etc
5 Things I Learned Attending Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2018 (Tips for Newbies)
- Wear Comfortable Shoes
Flats are the way to go. If you have to wear heels, wear block heels or keep a pair of flats in your bag.
- Take Pictures With Your Phone/Camera
Don’t wait on the ‘bomb pictures’ you took with street style photographers because you most likely won’t ever see them. Get a friend/stranger to take pictures of your slay.
- Don’t Go Hungry
There was barely anything to eat around…saw only one food truck, which i didn’t bother checking out.
- Go With your Friend/Squad
Going with Thonia made things easier and fun! I definitely would have felt overwhelmed and lost without her. Though It may not look like it, i’m a little socially awkward…a little lol
- Go With Charged Batteries and a Power Bank
You’ll be needing it especially if you plan on staying for the runway shows because it runs till late at night.
And that’s all for my Lagos Fashion Week experience guys!

All your looks were well thought-out, i mean, i loved them. I also see why we didn’t get to see pictures from your OOTD on Day 4. And yeah, Lesson two and five are actually major things to look out for lol. Keep it up. ❤️
